When the wisdom of the present is blinded by its own arrogant magnificence, only the reckless belligerence of youth is capable of saving us of from ourselves. Had this not been an integral part of human evolution, life as we know it would never have been possible, would never change. . . would never get better.

Though underestimated by some, Prince Charles will undoubtedly be a good King. As a painter he has learned that the process, the concept of ever-learning, holds more riches than the becoming or the being.

Contrary to popular belief, a democracy dependent solely on collective thinking can only coast. To survive and thrive whether locally, regionally, nationally or internationally it needs individuals considering, wondering and thinking beyond the obvious. To that effect, elemental philosophy should be on the curriculum of all grade schools.

The world is not a safe place. If it was, we and it would have died off a long time ago. To survive, we all need an equal amount of danger counterbalanced by individual and collective intelligence and daring – a measured bravado tinted with warmth and caring for the wondrous folly of it all.
